Riddles || Anyone

Helena nodded to herself as she took a closer look at the desk. "If it is out mystery man's hand print." she countered as she looked through Ryan's calendar.

Patrick nodded a bit in reply, then looked over, "Anything stand out there?" he asked while watching Helena look at the calender

"Not yet." she replied, shortly looking up at him, before going through the pages again. Since she started at the beginning, she only noticed now that a page was missing. "Well... found a missing page."

Patrick leaned in a bit when she said that, "Interesting" he said, "Must have been something important" he added matter of factly

"Hmm." Helena took a look at the following paged. "Maybe our killer's name was on it." she said. "We should have his computer checked too."

Patrick nodded in reply, "Agreed, I'll do the same with the hand print." he said to her after getting into an envelope. At the same time, his thoughts went back to the riddle and why it was left behind.

Helena sighed again. This was going to be one hell of a case, she just knew it. Cases that started with that little evidence, sometimes lasted long. She put an evidence tape onto the computer and organized someone to pick it up and take it to the lab.
"Riddles..." she said to herself as she thought about it. Some were meant to be fun, but right now this cases was a riddle she couldn't solve. Not yet, too many pieces of the puzzle were still missing.

At the same time, Patrick thought about the meaning of the riddle. A thought soon struck him. "Ryan Ditko used a cane didn't he?" he asked off the cuff.

Helena looked around the room, then he spotted a picture of an official event that showed Ryan Dikto in front of some hotel. He didn't exactly have a cane, but a gentleman's walking cane.
"Yeah, a gentleman's walking cane. You know... those rich guys mostly use to decorate themselves? With a knob on tob." she replied, thinking of Disney's famous Dagobert Duck.

Patrick nodded in reply, then repeated the riddle, "Which creature walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs in the evening?" he said to himself as he stood their.

Helena shook her head as the realization hit her. "Our victim already walked on three legs... at least in the killer's mind it was time for him to go?" Helena said, not happy with that thought at all. She hated it when other people played god, taking the life of another.

Patrick nodded in reply, "And if he is following the riddle, there will be two more victims." he added, at the same time, his search for a mach came up empty.

"You mean he'll kill a younger person and a little child?" she asked a little confused. Why start with the ending and not the beginning? And was it meant to be Ryan's family, or were it 'random' victims? Was she even right?

Patrick watched Helena as she said that, "Thats what I'm thinking at the moment." he said to her honestly

Helena gave a silent nod, not saying another word. It wasn't to her liking. But the bigger question was: who would be those victims?
"But why start in the evening? And who could be next?" she asked, though she didn't expect an answer.

Patrick nodded in reply, "Good question" he said as he thought about it. At the same time, the suspect was walking around near the Strip, scouting for his next victim.

Helena sighed a little, then packed up what little evidence she had.
"Hopefully David can tell us something more after his autopsy." she said, frustration lingering in her voice. She was tired, her head hurt and she just wanted to lay down and sleep.

Patrick noticed it as he watched her. "Agreed" he said to her gently. "Helena, you sure your okay?" he asked in kind.

She looked up at him, making a serious face.
"No, I'm not okay, but that doesn't change the fact that I gotta be here." she replied seriously. She was just a slight bit annoyed by that.

Patrick saw it, then nodded slowly, knowing that he had touched a nerve.

"We done here?" she asked him, looking around to see if they missed something. She just wanted to get back to the lab and get self a cup of tea.

Patrick looked back, "Yes we are" he replied, sensing that Helena wanted to get back to the lab

She nodded in reply, packed up everything she got and went to walk to the car. She sniffed a little and then sighed. She didn't like this at all. She'd probably take some Aspirin and pray it wouldn't get any worse.

Patrick did the same, heading out to the car after getting what he had collected. At the same time, he hoped that Helena would be okay.

Helena picked up her kit and the evidence and then slowly wandered out of the building, letting her gaze wander around as she left the office, just to make sure that nothing was left unnoticed.
As she took the stairs down to the car, she took it slow, feeling a little dizzy. She wished she would've stayed at home and called in sick when she woke up with a headache. She didn't have a good feeling about this.
