There she was, waiting in the line at the bank she usually went to when she needed money. Or when she was simply checking in on her account. Today, Helena wanted to get some money, because she desperately needed to go grocery shopping as well as buying a few other things that she needed.
"Today's the day" she thought, as she tapped her foot nervously on the tile floor. Usually she was a patient person, but for some reason she was restless right now.
Something was up, she could feel it, but she had no idea what. But then, only a few moments later, a group of bank robbers burst into the bank, aiming automatic guns at everyone and spreading panic and fear, while one of them told the employees to get all the money they had and fill it into their bags.

Out of her instincts Helena quietly got her phone out of the pocket, thankful that she wore jeans today and had her phone in that pocket. She dialed 911 and pressed the call button. For now she was safe, but her luck wasn't going to last....

At the same time, Patrick was sitting in his office when the call came into 911. The dispatcher listened closely, hearing the voices of the robbers in the back background. "Hot call, robbery in progress, Clover Leaf Bank." the dispatcher called out. Patrick heard he, then headed out with the other detectives. He didn't know that Helena was the one who made the 911 call.

Back in the bank, the robber who was watching the customers noticed that Helena had her phone out. "HEY" he shouted her before walking over and pressing his gun into the back of her head.

Helena had pushed her phone back into the pocket of her jacket this time when the guy called out and made his move toward her. Helena was prepared for everything, even a bullet and she figured since he didn't pull the trigger it was just her lucky day. Bad enough though, that when he pushed her down to the floor a little bit, her jacket lifted a little and her service weapon on her belt was revealed.
Helena was now hoping he didn't see it, because that would give her the chance for a quick change of events.
Please... don't see it. Don't see it

The man kept her covered as the leader came over and asked him what was going on. The first man glanced over, "This one had her phone out." he said. The leader walked over to Helena and saw the gun. "Well, well, looks like we have a cop on our hands.....cuff her." he said to his partner. The guy nodded, then pulled out a flex cuff and went to use it on Helena. Outside, Patrick, Capt. Brass, Greg and other officers showed up and started to surround the bank.

Since they didn't take her gun, Helena just needed one quick move to have it in her hands, using her martial arts tricks she learned she turned around, and held the gun up in front of her, aiming straight for the guy's manly parts, since he was standing over her.
"One move and I'll blow your balls off." Helena said in a dead serious tone, not batting an eye.
She was very aware of the fact that she was risking her life, but it was her job to do everything she could to help. The 911 call was out and she knew that backup was on the way.

The guy was clearly caught off guard by that. The leader looked back to Helena when she did that. "Feisty aren't you?" he said to her as he aimed his M-4 at her. Outside, Patrick was meeting up with Brass and the SWAT commander.

Helena didn't move a muscle, she just stared right at him. She would pull the trigger if he didn't back down. It was what she was trained for, but she always hoped to solve things quietly.
"You wish that was the case, kid." Helena replied.
From the guys voice she could hear that he was still quite young. Maybe in his early twenties, but definitely not older than herself. Only those youngsters were this stupid.

The kid smiled a bit, "I do indeed" he said. At the same time, the third robber came saw them after walking out of the managers office. "Who is this?" he asked as he walked up to his pals.

Once again, Helena didn't show any signs of a response on her face. She simply kept her gun up. She could see the police was already outside, flashing blue lights were to be seen easily. She knew that the building was already surrounded.
"Drop that gun now, or I shoot." she simply told him, ignoring the other guy's question. "You're not gonna get outta here, anyway."

The third guy walked over and joined them. "And why should we listen to you cop?" the leader asked, keeping his gun trained on her. The employees where on the floor behind the counter, their hands flexed cuffed. The manager and her secretary where restrained the same way in her office.

"Take look outside, kid. This place is surrounded." Helena told him, trying hard to keep herself from grinning.
"And besides, if your manhood is worth anything to you, you better do as I say, because if that gun isn't out of my face in three seconds, I will shoot."

Helena kept her cool, although she was outnumbered. She was hoping that the young man standing over her was smart enough to listen and then it was only a matter of time before someone would take action. And besides, Helena was smart and skilled in Martial Arts as well as the use of her gun, she would take those guys on, no questions asked.

The leader had the guys look outside. "S**t, she's right!" the shorter one shouted. The leader looked back to her after his pal said that. With out warning, he grabbed a young woman behind him and held his gun to her. "Put your gun down or she gets it." he said in a chilling tone. At the same time, Patrick was with one of the SWAT sharpshooters. Russel had him go up with the guy due to his back ground. He could see into the bank from where he was. "Dang it.....new deal, lead suspect is threatening a hostage." he said into his radio.

Helena kept her gun, watching as the guy grabbed a young woman and tried using her to make Helena give in. But Helena wasn't one to give up without a fight, so she had to think about something and quick. But what?
If she shot the guy standing over her, the hostage might be killed. That wasn't what Helena intended. But how helping the hostage and keep her gun.
Fine! I'll just shoot you instead then. she thought, letting her eyes wander through the room. One guy was still by the window, the second had the hostage and the third was standing over her. She could take out two within a few seconds, but what about the guy by the window? Would she get him out just as fast? Was it even worth the risk?
It's not worth it, Helena. The building is surrounded... you don't need to play hero at the life of innocent people.
"Your friend here first." Helena tried. Maybe it would work, if not she didn't have another choice anyway.

The leader looked at his pal and nodded to him. The kid lowered his gun at the same time. The young woman was shaking as he did that, fearing she might not make it out alive. She looked at Helena, her eyes pleading with her as the suspect lowered his gun. Outside, Patrick saw Helena and told the rest of the team.

Helena was relieved that the kid had more brains than his comrades seemed to have. Eventually she lowered her gun as well. What else could she do? Shoot them all? That wasn't what she wanted. But she felt a lot safer without the gun in her face.
"Get off me." Helena demanded from the kid standing over her. Then she turned to the guy holding the woman. "And you let the woman go. You got your wish."

The leader watched her, then let go of the woman. He then looked at his pal after doing so. "Take her pistol, then leave Nancy Drew and the sorority girl with the manager." he said to them. The two nodded, then did so. Outside, Patrick felt powerless about the situation. Hang on Helena.....you punks harm one hair on her head, you will not see the light of day again he said to himself.

Helena was relieved that the woman got out of this unharmed. At least physically unharmed. But she was not happy that she was separated from her gun. But since she had no other choice right now, she simply played along. She would find a way out of this situation - somehow.

The lead robber marched Helena into the manager's office. The woman and her secretary watched them as they came in. Both where sitting in on the floor, their hands kept behind their backs with zip ties. "Sit next to them" the kid ordered Helena after getting her into the room. Outside, SWAT was getting ready to enter. Patrick joined them after a second sniper took over for him.

Robbery Gone Wrong || Patrick, Anyone Empty Re: Robbery Gone Wrong || Patrick, Anyone

Post by Helena Coleman Wed May 15, 2013 2:06 pm

Helena did what she was told to do. What else could she have done anyway? Or maybe this was her chance to overwhelm the kid and take matters into her hands again. After all, the manager's office was quite a bit down the hall and the two other guys were still in the lobby.
I could do it... one good move and his gun's mine... and my own gun as well, since he took it.
Helena kept her fighting face on, it didn't allow anyone to read her thoughts. She would wait until he went to tie her up, because then he would have to let go of his gun. That was the moment when she would attack him and take his gun and then tie him up. Yes, now she had a fighting plan.

So when the kid was behind her, she heard the gun being put on the floor beside him and he went to grab her wrist. That was the moment Helena had waited for. She made a quick move, grabbing the kid's arm and then pulled her wrist free, so she could use both hands on his arm. Then, in one swift move, she threw him over her own head and down onto the floor, where he was now on his back. It only took her one second, to grab his weapon and with one stroke to his his head, she knocked him out. Then Helena grabbed the zip ties from his hand and tied his own hands behind the kid's back. Then she moved him to the wall beside the door where she took cover. She mentioned to the manager and her secretary to stay quiet.
The other two would get worried if their friend didn't come back and that was the moment Helena was now waiting for.

The manager and the secretary both nodded in reply when Helena motioned to them. Back in the main area, the leader looked down the hall, noticing that Sean was taking to long. "SEAN, WHATS KEEPING YOU?!" he called out. He then had one of the others go down to check on him.

Outside, one of the SWAT guys noticed what was going on as he looked into the bank with the remote camera he had. He quickly told his boss that, who then started the countdown to enter the bank.

Helena, standing behind the door to the office, her back against the wall, the gun in her hands, was waiting for him to enter the room. What better way to subdue them anyway?
She could hear the kid's footsteps coming closer and prepared herself. It was only one of them, not both, which made things a lot easier. Taking a deep breath, she waited for the guy to enter.

Three.... two.... one... and there he was, pushing the partly closed door wide open and marched into the room. Such an amateur....
Once the guy was past the door, Helena pushed it shut and aimed the M-4 she had taken from the first kid, at the robber now standing in the middle of the room.
"One sound or false move and you have a bullet in your knee." Helena demanded, watching the totally surprised bank robber closely.

At the same time, the SWAT team, along with Nick, Patrick and Brass, entered the bank after a flash bang was tossed in. After it went off, the leader covered his ears seconds before he was taken down by two SWAT officers. The rest of the team cleared the rest of the bank, freeing the tellers at the same time. "HELENA" Patrick called out after freeing a rather petrified 24 year old female teller.

When Helena heard the sound of the flash bang going off, she was still aiming the M-4 at the young kid, who had turned around to look at her in shock. He wasn't giving in that easily though.
While he was distracted by the sound of SWAT entering the building, Helena stayed focused. She didn't move from her spot though, because the guy was also carrying a M-4 and she didn't want to risk him shooting her, accidentally or not.
"Drop that gun, kid." Helena said slowly. Then she heard Patrick call out her name.

He knows I'm here... He'll find me anyway. Can't scare the kid.
Helena decided not to call out to Patrick, figuring he'd be here in a few seconds anyway. Instead she watched the kid, who tossed his gun in her direction.
"On your knees, hands behind your head and no wrong move." Helena said.
She had just said that when the leader of the three bank robbers came to. He found himself tied up, leaning against the wall next to Helena.

Patrick made his way down the hall to the managers office. Once in, he saw the manager and her secretary sitting on the floor, then saw the robbers being held at gun point by Helena. A subtle smirk came to Patrick's face as he watched Helena hold the guys up. "Need any help detective?" he asked, not giving away the fact that he knew her.

Helena noticed the suble smirk on his face, but she kept hers hidden. He didn't want to give it away that he knew her, well, that was just fine with Helena. She could play this little game just fine.
"Everything under control." she replied with a small nod. "But you may cuff that kid here on his knees. The other one's already cuffed."

The kid had been smart enough to do as Helena told him to. But since they wore ski masks, Helena didn't get the chance to see just how young they actually were. But from their actions she figured they might be in their late teens to early twenties.
