Trip to Childhood Memories || Nicole

Nicole giggled along with Danny when she did that. "Still ticklish I see" she said to him in a teasing tone as she watched him. She then leaned in and kissed him after setting her beer down. "I like that about you." she added while watching him, not seeing what Harry and Carla were doing as they watched them.

Only a smile on his face, Danny closed his eyes when Nicole kissed him, slowly wrapping his arms around her. He could feel his grandmother and father watching them, not that he minded, but he felt like a teenager in love again. But it was exactly that feeling that made this relationship so special, even after dating for a while.

Harry eventually just looked at his beer, after he gave his mother a wink, who was smiling at the two of them. But it was her who would make the remark neither of them were expected.
"Get a room." Carla teased them in a light tone. "Isn't that what youngsters say these days?"

Nicole looked over when Carla said that to them, then broke into a giggle fit after she made that comment. "Aye, thats what they say" she replied while picking her beer up again and taking a sip of the malted beverage. Nicole felt the hop taste in her mouth after pulling the bottle back from her lips. As she did that, Nicole got another whiff of the meal they would be having in a while.

Danny actually blushed, when he heard his grandmother say that to them. That was something he didn't expect her to say and he felt a little embarrassed right now. But he quickly composed himself, smirking a little and shaking his head.
"Nana..." he said a slight bit embarrassed.

"Aww" Carla said, smiling at him. Her big brown eyes were sparkling in the kitchen light as she put the dinner into the oven and then looked at Danny. "I'm glad to see you happy, nieto."

Nicole couldn't help but giggle hard when Danny and Carla had that exchange between them. It made her happy to see Danny and his family interacting like this, despite what they would be going to the next day. It reminded her of her own family, who still had to meet Danny in person at some point. For know, Nicole pushed that to the side and focused on Danny and his family. It was clear she was enjoying in being with them.

Danny smiled a little at his grandmother, a happy spark in his dark brown eyes as he looked at her. "I know, nana." he said softly, being happy, even though they would be going through a hard time these next two days. But he knew how his grandmother was always keeping things light, not dwelling on the sad things, but celebrating the good. Danny knew that, even though there would be moments of sadness, his grandmother would make sure they were celebrating her husband's life and not mourning his death. It was just the way she was, it was the same spirit Danny had, too.

Nicole watched Danny and Carla as they interacted, noting how the older woman was staying up beat. As she watched them, Nicole made a note to herself that this woman deserves to have a great grandchild. A smile came to Nicole's face as she thought of that, not knowing that her semi dreamy state was noticeable to the people around her.

Danny glanced at Nicole, noticing the look on her face and smiled a little. He had a good guess what Nicole was thinking about right now, but he wouldn't actually let it show. Carla and Harry noticed the look on Nicole's face, too, but they didn't say anything, they just smiled a little. Carla gave her grandson a small poke.

He walked up to Nicole, gently putting her hand on the small of her back and kissed her cheek. "You look even more beautiful like that." he whispered to her after pulling back.

Nicole looked at Danny when he said that to her. "Thank you Danny" she whispered back to him. "Your grandmother deserves a great grand kid." she whispered to Danny off the cuff while watching him as she stood there with him. Thought she said that off the cuff, Nicole was serious about it.

That statement, especially because he knew she was serious about it, caught Danny off guard. She had said something like that before, but he had started it back then. Now it was Nicole who just said it. It was almost like they were actually married, which they were not (yet).

Realizing what she said, Danny smirked a little. He liked the sound of that very much, but he also knew what he would need to do before that would happen. And just thinking about it, created an image of them having a small family together. It was something Danny liked imagining, but it also reminded him that he still had to find a way to actually do what he wanted to for a little while.

Pushing that thought aside, Danny gave Nicole a playful grin, placing his hand on her back. "Hm... that could be arranged..." he whispered playfully, a small spark in his eyes. He was teasing her, half serious though.

Nicole watched Danny as he said that to her, grinning a bit as well. "Easy Danny" she said to him in kind, holding back a giggle as she said that. She kept her eyes on Danny's as she said that to him, there was a playful look to them as she stood there. "You think I'd be a good mum?" she asked while watching Danny.

Danny laughed a little, ignoring the two sets of eyes that were watching them. He didn't quite care about that anyway, he was happy and he didn't mind his family knowing. They would be the first to know anyway.
"Absolutely." he answered her question honestly, his eyes locked with hers.


Just a moment later, Carla cleared her throat, interrupting the happy couple.
"You two cariños can go and set the table." the elderly told them, a smile on her face.

Nicole nodded a bit when Danny said that to her. "Thank you Danny" she replied, smiling at him as she said that. Hearing Carla clear her throat and speak to them, Nicole composed herself and looked over. "On it" she said gently before walking over to the table to help get it set.

Danny smirked a little, giving Nicole a small nod and then went over to the kitchen counter and got plates, forks and knives and took them to the dining room next to the kitchen, where he put them down on the table.

Back in the kitchen, Carla chuckled a little watching her grandson and his girlfriend interact. She was clearly happy to see Danny like that. It made her happy that he's found someone like Nicole.

Nicole got the glasses and napkins at the same time, taking them over to the table. She had a feeling that Carla was happy that she was in her grandson's life. She knew how happy Danny was, but didn't know how happy Carla was with her. It was something that she would find out later on.

Danny put everything in the right place, glancing up at Nicole with a soft smile every now and then. Once the table was set, Danny walked back into the kitchen and rejoined his grandma and father.

Harry Cooper had a small, somewhat somber smile on his face. Watching his son and his girlfriend reminded him of how things had been between him and Cristina, his ex-wife and Danny's mother. They used to be just as playful and happy, but then things had gone south. Things at the Navy had gotten tough and he forgot to treat his family right. That had cost him everything; first his wife then his son. At least he made peace with one of them. Maybe he would call Cristina some day and try to fix things between them at least a little bit.

Nicole saw the look on Harry's face when she turned from the table. "Mr. Cooper?" she asked gently while standing there and watching him. Nicole could tell that he seemed to be thinking about something important, but didn't know that it had to do with her and Danny.

Danny looked up when Nicole spoke to his father. Mostly because he was used to respond to that as well.

Harry snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Nicole with a wondering look in his also brown eyes. They were almost as dark brown as Danny's, but unlike his son, he had light brown highlights in his eyes.
"What is it?" he asked her in a gentle tone.

Nicole watched Danny's father as he asked her that. "Something on your mind?" she asked softly while standing there. If he could, she wanted to help Danny's father out. don't rush it Nikky she said to herself while standing there and watching him. Nicole walked over and stood next to Harry, a concerned look on her face at the same time.

The older man noticed the look of concern on the young woman's face. He gave her a small smile and shook his head. No, it was nothing for them to worried about.
"Nothing you need to worry about." he told her in a light tone. "I just remembered that we used to be like you and Danny... his mother and I."

Nicole watched Harry as he said that to her, then smiled a little. "Oh really?" she asked in the same light tone while standing there with him. Nicole was clearly surprised at what Harry just told her about him and his wife. "You can get that back." she said to him off the cuff while watching him.

"I doubt it." Harry said honestly. "20 years is a long time... a beautiful, smart woman like she was, I'm sure she's found a new husband."
Not that he didn't miss Cristina, but they've been divorced for twenty years with barely any contact whatsoever. He wouldn't be able to fuel up an old spark that might as well be gone by now. He's made too big a mistake to ever get that back.

Danny looked at his father, knowing that there wasn't much of a chance that they'd ever get back together. Too much time passed between them and he wouldn't intervene. Besides, he was way out of that age where he wanted his parents back together. Things were better this way. Maybe because he didn't know any better.
"Actually, she never got married again." he told his father. He deserved to know. "Much like yourself."

Nicole looked over to Danny when he said that after listening to Harry. She looked back to Harry to see his reaction to what his son just said to him. "You should reach out to her, just to see how she's doing." she said gently, not wanting to upset Harry. Nicole knew that it wasn't her to talk about this, but at the same time, she had a feeling that it would help Harry out a bit to just reach out to his ex wife again.

Harry slowly shook his head. He wasn't used to actually being the center of attention and being talked to like this. He didn't quite know what to do about it.
"Well... maybe." he said.

Just at the same time, Carla got their dinner out of the oven and took it to the dining room. "Vámonos, señores y señorita." she said to the small group, as she walked to the door. "Dinner's ready."

Nicole watched Harry as he said that to her, then looked over to Carla. She smiled a little, then made her way to the table. The aroma of the meal hit her nose at the same time. "I have a feeling this will be an ace meal." she said to them, the smile still on her face as she said that to Danny, Carla and Harry.
