Nightly Walk || Anyone
Daniel had decided to go for a late walk. He always enjoyed dark hours more than sun bathed. It was probably because of his troubled past but maybe because he just enjoyed the night's atmosphere.
The full moon was up and some night birds sung their songs above his head when Daniel entered park.
He liked parks. The feeling that it was full of living and joy he missed at work where death was always prominent.
So the young man just sat on the bench and closed his eyes, concentrating on breathing and the feeling of wind touching his skin. The sounds of park engulfed him into some fantasy world...

Re: Nightly Walk || Anyone
The evening had gifted Las Vegas with a beautiful evening, and Lady Heather was out for a walk. She was wearing a beautiful black dress, the lace trim a deep emerald colour, her skirts swishing about softly as she walked.
She enjoyed the evening, enjoyed it when she could get some time off. Rather a pleasant change to hear bird song instead of yelps and groans all evening. Not that she hated her work, she didn't. Just that it was nice to get away, if only for a while.

Daniel laid stretched out on the bench with eyes closed, humming some random songs that popped in his mind, and thought about random things.
It was calm and soothing night.

Lady Heather smiled to herself, cherishing this beautiful night. It wasn't often that she got to head out like this, so this was special.
She meandered through the park, thoughts floating from work, to her daughter, to Grissom. Hearing soft melodies, she looked around, before noticing a man lying on the bench. "Pretty tune," she told him softly as she slowly made her way to him.

He was so taken over by some fantasy, along the tune he was humming, that almost didn't hear soft voice talking to him.
Dan's eyes snapped open. "Thanks." he said, his voice soft.
There was a woman. He thought she seemed familiar, but not always Dan trusted his mind.

Heather gave him a smile. "May I?" she asked, gesturing to the seat. It would be nice to just sit for a while. Her dark eyes studied the man. He looked rather familiar, though from where Heather had no idea. He didn't look like one of her customers; those she could remember well.

"Oh. Of course." he finally came to his senses, remembering the good manners, and jumped from the bench with a flourish, waving an offering hand towards the seat.

With a smile and a nod of thanks, Heather sat down. "Thank you. But feel free to sit. I don't bite," she added with a chuckle. Well, not in public anyway. "I take it you're having a good evening?"

Neal smiled sheepishly and took the place next to the lady. "Well, at times I may bite, but today's your lucky day." he joked. Well, she seemed the kind that wouldn't bite him.
"Ah, just trying not to fry my brain. This works good. Aside gambling. Sin City always tempts me to forget I should not be here at all." Dan told his mysterious companion. Truth was that they had probably put out a warning on him in most casinos around. Not that it keeps him away adventures...

A small smirk played on Heather's lips at his remark. "Well, I happen to like biting," she retorted, eyebrow raising ever-so-slightly. "It's like kissing, except there's a winner." One of her girls had once told her that quote, and Heather had adored it. And this conversation right now seemed perfect in which to use it.
"Tough night, huh?" Yeah, she could sympathise on that one. Vegas was definitely not a city for the weak-hearted. Sin City chewed and spat out weak souls as part of its regular day routine. Only the strong-minded could remain here.

Daniel smirked. Of course, it was Sin City, he'd be surprised if she told otherwise.
"I don't mind that too." mischievous glint sparkled in his crystal blue eyes.
Dan's eyebrows rose at Heather's next words.
"I could swear my cousin said something extremely close to same lines if not the exact thing. And I've seen her girlfriend." he almost laughed. His other cousin, boyfriend had told approximately same lines after they had played whole night. Yet he had wondered what else boys had done to sparkle up the night.
"Well tough might not be appropriate word. It's more like a computer tech's nightmare along equal pile of DNA analyses and few fingerprints on top of tons of surveillance videos. And if I could believe one guy aliens aren't far from taking over." Daniel said. "Plus they told me not even to try for a poker game. Guess one can't get all the goodies at once." he added with a humorous spark.

Heather chuckled. "Doctor Who fans then? One of my work girls is a fan and told me that. It seemed like a most perfect quote given my line of work. But I think it's a brilliant thing to do when you're bored. And when you're not, too."
Heather pulled a face of distaste. "Ugh, sounds awful. I have a lot of respect for you forensics guys - your patience is amazing. As for the aliens, of course they're coming. Haven't you seen all the UFO's all around lately?" she joked, giving a chuckle.

"Totally. They threatened to lock me up with all the DVDs for a months. Some serious people." Dan's ocean blue eyes sparkled. "Boredom is nation's friend and enemy at same. Some fun is always welcomed distraction."
"Thank you miss, that makes my work feel like it has sense." he grinned. "Maybe I've missed them but sure I'll know when they're coming, government buildings gets hit first. Unless they're one of those human-loving ones. I'd hug them all." Boy, he was rambling off today. 'Aliens-where that came from?' he mused. Sometimes he couldn't guess whether there was even a distant connection for his brain and tongue.

Heather giggled. "Definitely sounds serious. I've never watched the show, so let me know if it's any good. Anyway, since we've both decided that boredom is no good, tell me, what do you do for fun?" she asked, raising a cheeky eyebrow.

"Ah then I better grab you to watch with me. I'm not sure I can handle that 'gang' teasing alone. Next time I just better tell them I'm Star Wars society and let me alone with my ice cream before I turn into Jedi and take out my light saber." he laughed. The thought though seemed quite fun.
At her question Dan nearly blushed, although there wasn't reason. "Ah well, lot of things. Roll around on either my bicycle or roller-blades. Also try to get out of work to visit my horse stables I now co-own. My fellow is quite bright person and keeps my horse, Sarma, entertained.
But that's only good side. My naughty side still enjoys gambling and since this is the casino world I find it hard to fight colorful lights and smell of tempting drinks." Daniel admitted. He almost expected the day his face will be out in all casinos and by entrance the guard would ask him to turn around. But if then his old self comes out he'd be inside disguised and through back door. But that supposed to be illegal, and he was firmly placed on the right one.

"Are you inviting me then?" Heather asked with a raise of her eyebrow. Well this was new. Flirting over Doctor Who on a nightly walk, who knew?
"You own a stable? Horses have always fascinated me; they're the most gorgeous creatures. So intelligent and responsive too. Sarma's a beautiful name. Does it have a special meaning?" It had been years since she'd last ridden. Many many years. Some days she really missed it, missed the wind in her hair as she galloped, the feel of the horse underneath her. Maybe some day you'll go again...
Maybe...
"Well, this is Vegas. I would be surprised if you didn't have a bit of a soft spot for the bright lights and drinks. Have you been here long?" She'd found the effect usually wore off after a while. Of course there were always exceptions - the addicts. To Heather those were the saddest - the way a life could spiral so out of control, to the point of no return, all over a vice.

Daniel smiled. "Would that be a bad idea?" he asked, one eyebrow raised curiously. Who'd thought Doctor Who can be so fun.
"Yeah, it happened somehow. One of my uncles left States and didn't want to sell stables to whoever. At that time I moved from New York and I had to start a brand new life." he explained. "Horses are wonderful. They helps in a lots of ways." Dan had dreamy expression again but he quickly returned back to reality. "Well, sorta has. It means 'frost' in some language my bright co-owner knows. The horse though looks like frosted, white with grey. She had the name already when I got stables. I had that special feeling with her. Lea said it's because we have bond. Like her and Zoom." Daniel was happy to have the horse. It helped him to deal with gambling and some other past issues.
"Maybe you can come one day and feel the horse again? I can get some weekend off so we could have a ride." he suggested.
"Ah Vegas, the Sin City. And I know sin. Been here for some years. Since started university. Did some stupid things in New York and came here to start new life.
Well, it's not only soft spot. It's more than just that. But I'm fighting against it to become free for once." he told. Despite the bright city lights the darkness in his past kept taunting him at times.
